FB: Top 10 Rankings Update

As expected, St. John Bosco moves up to No. 1 after avenging one of its two losses by topping previous No. 1 Mater Dei in CIFSS D1 final. De La Salle also edges up to No. 4 with Narbonne dropping one spot to No. 5.

NorCal/SoCal Players of the Week

We had not yet picked the sensational Eric Melesio of Riverside Norte Vista and we’ll do that now for SoCal and go over his record-breaking 563-yard rushing outing from last Friday. Others honored for this week are from Antelope, Stockton, Oakland, Huntington Beach and San Marcos.

The highest ranked teams to lose in section playoff openers were No. 14 Napa and No. 17 Roseville, but you can’t call either loss an upset. The only newcomer is Inderkum of Sacramento, which is playing No. 3 Sacramento in a Division II quarterfinal.
