Del Oro knocks off Vista Murrieta in significant Saturday night matchup. On Friday, No. 1 St. John Bosco and No. 2 De La Salle both defeat strong out-of-state opponents while No. 10 Centennial comes up just short in upset bid of Nevada’s Bishop Gorman. Highest ranked team to get upset, meanwhile, was No. 13 Upland.
FB: Bosco opens with a win
Junior running back Sean McGrew ran for touchdowns from four, 30 and 45 yards out and senior quarterback Josh Rosen threw for one score and ran for another as St. John Bosco of Bellflower started the 2014 season with a 63-14 romp past St. Louis of Honolulu.
Preseason 50: Teams 1-15
It shouldn’t be a surprise that St. John Bosco of Bellflower is No. 1 and De La Salle of Concord is No. 2 to start the 2014 season. The great news is that so many of the top-ranked teams are continuing to play each other early and often.
