Big Little Game No Longer The Pitts
For Antioch, star back Najee Harris and teammates break an eight-year losing streak to arch-rival Pittsburg with 44-42 victory. The Panthers (10-0) also earned the No. 2 seed in the CIF North Coast Section Division I playoffs and have cracked the State Top 25 for the first time this century. We shouldn’t have to tell […]
NEW S.F. Bay Area FB Ranks (Week 9)
If you were wondering why an unbeaten Antioch team with one of the nation’s top running backs is not ranked higher, we have the answer. In this week’s rankings, Bellarmine also bumps back up to No. 4 while Oak Grove and Moreau Catholic jump in as newcomers.
NorCal/SoCal Players of the Week
Once again for this season, only one is named from each region for offense, defense and special teams and we’re going to do our best to spread it around as much as possible. This week’s honors go to players from Stockton, Pittsburg, Sacramento, San Marino, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Preseason FB: All-NCS/East Bay
This is the 10th preseason all-section or all-area football team we have compiled and covers schools from the East Bay region of the CIF North Coast Section, which is Contra Costa and Alameda counties, plus players from the CIF Oakland Section. This is the one, of course, dominated since the mid-1980s by Concord De La […]
Preseason FB Duel: Pitt vs. Foothill (P)
This is the eighth in a series of posts comparing two local rivals who both may be toward the top of the preseason state football rankings. These two teams actually aren’t playing each other in the regular season so the duel for us is which one has the best chance of being No. 2 in […]
