Week 5 State Top 25 Scoreboard
It was a quiet Friday night in SoCal due to many top teams having byes, but in the north it was No. 13 Bellarmine and No. 14 Clayton Valley holding the line against major challengers. No. 1 De La Salle and No. 5 Folsom both post shutouts while No. 2 Corona Centennial wins 69-7.
State Stat Stars of the Week
Annual regular football feature returns with top reported single-game performances from around the state. This week’s best includes a 465-yard, 7-TD outing from a quarterback and that’s with his legs and not his arm. It’s another SEC-style night in the CIF Southern Section’s Trinity League as No. 1 St. John Bosco wins 49-44, No. 3 Mater Dei wins 20-17 and No. 17 Santa Margarita wins 42-41. The night’s biggest upset, meanwhile, comes in the CIF Central Section where No. 1 Edison falls to Sanger.
