All-State Baseball: First Team
On the same day that Major League Baseball was announcing which players are going to this year’s All-Star Game, we were finalizing the picks for the 34th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state first team. All of these players will be listed in the state record book, and we’ll be posting all of them later this summer.
Mr. Baseball State POY Finalists
This is one of the most impressive groups of elite players to be chosen as finalists for State Player of the Year we’ve ever had and have ever encountered in more than 100 years of research. Five of the nine finalists were chosen among the first 41 in last week’s MLB Draft.
Bay Area Baseball, Softball Top 20s
St. Francis baseball and Amador Valley softball are the early leaders in the region even though St. Francis was edged in extra innings last Friday by Archbishop Mitty. We produce these rankings in support of the Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area TV show, which airs live on KUSI Channel 20 in San Francisco on Sunday nights.
Baseball, Softball State Top 20s
St. Francis of Mountain View moves to No. 1 for baseball while Mission Viejo stays No. 1 in softball. Results from Tuesday of this week were accounted for in both new rankings. Five new baseball teams and six new softball teams are now in the spotlight.
All-State Baseball: Underclass
Four schools lead the way with three players on first and second teams and two of those schools are in the same league. Full release of the 33rd annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Baseball Team should be completed by Sunday.
