All-State Baseball: First Team

On the same day that Major League Baseball was announcing which players are going to this year’s All-Star Game, we were finalizing the picks for the 34th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state first team. All of these players will be listed in the state record book, and we’ll be posting all of them later this summer.

Mr. Baseball State POY Finalists

This is one of the most impressive groups of elite players to be chosen as finalists for State Player of the Year we’ve ever had and have ever encountered in more than 100 years of research. Five of the nine finalists were chosen among the first 41 in last week’s MLB Draft.

State’s best from Area Code Games

Even with no hits in three games, Clovis shortstop Jacob Gatewood still shined the most during last week’s event in Long Beach. San Diego Cathedral Catholic pitcher Brady Aiken’s 92-mph fastball also turned the most heads.
