It was a pair of performances worth gold as Lynwood’s Carl Lewis rampaged for 110 points and continued to make himself more well known to college recruiters. We also have a girls honoree from Bakersfield with a 50-point game plus additional nods going to players from Lompoc and Hughson.

Among the best this week is a pitcher from Menlo-Atherton who threw a no-hitter for seven innings and then lost in extras. Plus, softball sluggers Dominique Jackson from Pleasant Valley of Chico and Briana Tautalafua of Carson both connect four times in two games.

These players were the best of the best for California high schools among teams that were considered Division III, Division IV or Division V for the state rankings. This is the 31st consecutive year for Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams in softball.
