More State Boys Athletes of Year
Among others earning top state honors are Michael Norman of Vista Murrieta (juniors), Matt Katnik of St. John Bosco (Division II) and Sam Metcalf of Farmersville (Division V). Brandon Presley from Great Oak of Temecula also is second-ever State Three-Sport Athlete of the Year.
State Passing Records Updated
As a celebration of this week’s CIF state bowl games and one quarterback in particular concluding one of the greatest careers in state history, we have posted updated single-season totals for passing yards and TD passes.
NorCal/SoCal Players of the Week
Only one is named from each region for offense, defense and special teams and we’re going to do our best to spread it around as much as possible. This week’s honors go to Farmersville, San Francisco, Petaluma, Upland, San Diego and La Quinta.
State Stat Stars of the Week
Presented by our new partners from ATHLETETRAX, it’s another week of massive passing with four reported above 500 yards, including another one from the Redwood Empire with eight TD passes. Vista del Lago’s Terell Lee and Wasco’s Gabriel Cabezuela also shine as rushers.
