BB: Centennial downs Etiwanda

On the same day its football team played for the CIFSS Pac-5 championship in football, Corona Centennial’s boys basketball team downed CIF state open division title contender Etiwanda, 67-63. Sedrick Barefield leads comeback victory, as Etiwanda coach Dave Kleckner is denied 500th career win.

FAB 50: Mater Dei & Etiwanda In

Four-time defending CIF state champion Mater Dei of Santa Ana and playoff rival Etiwanda ranked in preseason GrassrootsHoops.net FAB 50 national boys basketball rankings. Rankings compiled by Cal-Hi Sports Managing Editor Ronnie Flores released in three parts with teams No. 16-30 published Monday. Nation’s top 15 teams will be released Tuesday.
