We already have reports of boys players this week with 56, 53 and 52-point outbursts. Some of those will have to wait until next week as more details come in but two other 50-point games from last week are included. San Diego Section standouts Destiny Littleton, Katrina Lusky and Sierra Campisano, meanwhile, lead the girls.

State Stat Stars of the Week
Two boys players get into a shootout and both hit the 50-point mark while one of our girls honorees gets listed with a 42-point, 14-steal, 12-assist triple-double. That girl, though, San Bernardino Arroyo Valley’s Tamera Trigg, is on a team now in the hot seat for winning 161-2 earlier this week.
Girls of Summer: Ballroom antics
San Diego Horizon’s Dijonai Carrington has a breakout game to lead Cal Sparks Gold to a 5-0 record in Elite Group pool but it also was another great week for Vista Murrieta’s Jaelyn Brown. Cal Sparks Blue completes sweep of top two divisions with title victory in Elite A bracket.
Girls BB: San Diego Classic Day 1
Girls that were expected to perform came through with flying colors on the opening day of the 28th Annual San Diego Classic. When St. Mary’s (Stockton) head coach Tom Gonsalves said the 10th Annual Girls of Summer caravan wouldn’t be disappointed with the performance of incoming freshman Aquira DeCosta, he was right on the mark.

Cal Stars Nike Elite lose in three overtimes at the End of the Trail tourney in Oregon and a very young EBO Black team has a good showing at the Under Armour event in Louisville with 2014 State Freshman of the Year Destiny Littleton putting on a show.
More State Girls Players of the Year
We choose honorees for seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen and for each CIF division. Two girls – Katie Lou Samuelson and Sabrina Ionescu – actually both collect two separate honors.
