Pairings Breakdown: North Coast

De La Salle, Clayton Valley and Campolindo are easy No. 1 seeds for the top three divisions. The biggest surprises are in the small school divisions where one 10-0 team only got a No. 10 seed plus two teams seem to have benefitted from getting forfeit wins over Oakland McClymonds.

State Stat Stars of the Week

Presented by ATHLETETRAX, this week’s best includes two running backs from annual statfest that seems to happen every time Tulare and Porterville get together. Sacramento’s Caden Voges also makes the state record book with eight TD passes while congrats also are in order to Caruthers head coach Tom Casanova for earning 200th career win.

NEW Bay Area 25 Football Rankings

Serra moves up to No. 2 as unbeaten team so far within the WCAL. Milpitas is right behind and could jump the Padres next week with a win on Friday in a showdown against Los Gatos. San Leandro, meanwhile, is this week’s only newcomer.

Week 8 State Top 25 Scoreboard

Major moves for next week’s State 25 are ensured after No. 3 Mater Dei falls to JSerra 17-10 in what can be called biggest win for JSerra in its history. Other big winners include Serra of Gardena, Santa Margarita, Milpitas and Clayton Valley of Concord.

Here come the Bells up to No. 4 after beating a San Leandro team that owns a win over James Logan. This week’s highest ranked newcomer is Palma of Salinas.

Here is the opening top 25 for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for the 2014 football season. After De La Salle, it could be Pittsburg and the CIF Central Coast Section leaders (Serra & Valley Christian) jockeying inside the first five positions.
