Retiring San Francisco Lowell head coach ends career with one of the highest win totals among all coaches in state history not to mention three straight section titles and a TransBay Series crown. We also have to go back to 1945 to find a previous State Baseball Coach of the Year from San Francisco.

State Coach of the Year: Chuck Rapp
Serra of San Mateo coach’s team won CIF Central Coast Section Open Division title and knocked off favored Moreau Catholic in NorCal Open Division. Rapp has been one of the most highly respected boys hoops coaches in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years.
State Baseball Coaches of the Year
The 2014 State Coach of the Year is James Davis from Granite Hills of El Cajon, who helped team win CIF San Diego Section Open Division title. Other honors to Ollie Turner of Torrance and Jay Preuss of Kerman.

Architect of CIF Division II state title team and No. 3 team in overall final state rankings also is honored for the work he did at former school Birmingham of Lake Balboa.
