Preseason Boys BB Updates
Our own preseason Cal-Hi Sports state rankings – going 35 teams deep plus a preseason all-state team to follow – will begin to be released late next week. As a teaser, here are the preseason regional rankings as released on Thursday by partners at GrassrootsHoops.net. Many California teams mentioned.
Preseason 50: Teams 1-15
It shouldn’t be a surprise that St. John Bosco of Bellflower is No. 1 and De La Salle of Concord is No. 2 to start the 2014 season. The great news is that so many of the top-ranked teams are continuing to play each other early and often.
Preseason 50: Teams 16-30
Hart of Newhall from the new CIFSS West Valley Division tops this group of teams. It’s also a group that includes several squads who should be guaranteed to be stronger this season, such as Valley Christian of San Jose, JSerra of San Juan Capistrano and Chaparral of Temecula.
Preseason Girls BB Top 35 (Part 1)
The first four are from SoCal, led by Mater Dei of Santa Ana, with the next seven from NorCal, led by St. Mary’s of Stockton. Check here for writeups of the first 15 teams.
No. 31-50 Overall Preseason FB Teams
A 3-7 and a 7-6 team from last year get into the mix among this group of squads. Last season’s two CIF Division III state bowl game participants also are featured.
