It wasn’t a huge outing but we salute Sacramento High QB Caden Voges for becoming just the sixth in state history to reach 10,000 passing yards for career. Others collecting this honor this week are from Newman, Moraga, Gardena, San Clemente and Anaheim.

Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five quarterbacks this season in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, according to CalHiSports.com.

Presented by ATHLETETRAX, this week’s best includes two running backs from annual statfest that seems to happen every time Tulare and Porterville get together. Sacramento’s Caden Voges also makes the state record book with eight TD passes while congrats also are in order to Caruthers head coach Tom Casanova for earning 200th career win.

Presented by ATHLETETRAX, this week’s best includes seven with more than 400 yards passing but none of those seven threw for seven TDs in one game. Someone else did. College Park’s David Jones also will go into the state record book for scoring eight TDs in a single outing.
Rocklin passes Sacramento test
Facing a team noted for its passing attack, it’s host Rocklin that goes to the air to beat Sacramento and improve to 4-0. The Thunder also seem squarely in the mix in the race probably to finish second to Folsom in loaded Sierra Foothill League.
