For the first time since we started the Bay Area rankings this season, there were no changes this week. In fact, with the exception of St. Francis losing to Mitty, none of the other top teams faced a ranked opponent in league action and there were no upsets.

CIF Open Boys: Three in a row also is No. 10 for Mater Dei
Stanley Johnson and Aaron Gordon both put on a show in first CIF Open Division state final. Johnson’s 26 points leads SoCal team to victory, making coach Gary McKnight’s program the first to win three straight state titles in the top division.
New State Top 20 Boys BB Rankings
The big game in the CIF’s new open division won’t be a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup, but the winner will assuredly be the Cal-Hi Sports State Team of the Year. Mitty’s big win over Sheldon is also good news for Serra of San Mateo, one of four newcomers in the next-to-last state rankings.
