Grant of Sacramento puts up the perfect score on Halloween, but it wasn’t a night of treats for No. 19 Serra of San Mateo, which was upset by Archbishop Mitty. Other big winners include St. John Bosco, Milpitas and Alemany of Mission Hills.

NorCal Girls BB Regional Finals

Big winners include Salesian, Pleasant Grove, Archbishop Mitty, Modesto Christian, Justin-Siena and Pinewood. Salesian’s defense was the key in stopping Miramonte in the Open Division. Modesto Christian’s comeback from 17 points down in the second half against Enterprise also was amazing. Look for our CIF state finals’ predictions on Monday.

It’s another week of stat stuffing excellence, including a boy from Branham (in San Jose) and a girl named Branham (frem West Ranch of Valencia). We also have Cole Lockwood from Santa Clara (41 points) and Ali Englehart (21 of 24 free throws).

Los Altos and Palo Alto make their marks in CCS and NorCal playoffs. Both will have big matches coming up on Saturday night. West Catholic Athletic League CIF Central Coast Section champions Archbishop Mitty and Valley Christian, and an additional CCS champion, Menlo School, all received top seeds in the CIF Northern California regional playoffs.
