Girls BB State Team of Year 2015
Stockton has a No. 1 overall team for the state for the first time in any sport since 1992 as a result of St. Mary’s winning last Saturday’s CIF Open Division state title. The Rams also make history for their school (founded in 1928) with its first-ever State Team of the Year (in any sport).
NorCal No. 1 beats NorCal No. 2
The title game of Tuesday’s Platinum Division at the West Coast Jamboree matched the early leaders in Northern California girls basketball and saw youthful St. Mary’s of Stockton defeat senior-laden St. Ignatius of San Francisco. Girls BB: San Diego Classic Day 1
Girls that were expected to perform came through with flying colors on the opening day of the 28th Annual San Diego Classic. When St. Mary’s (Stockton) head coach Tom Gonsalves said the 10th Annual Girls of Summer caravan wouldn’t be disappointed with the performance of incoming freshman Aquira DeCosta, he was right on the mark.
Girls of Summer: Tune Up Toppers
The Summer Tune Up, hosted last weekend by Stockton Lincoln head coach and respected girls basketball analyst Chris Roemer, saw an upstart Team Mariani come away with the championship.
