New Softball State Top 20
The best teams seem to be settling in for the playoffs. Still running in the first five slots are Mission Viejo, Mater Dei, Pacifica, Archbishop Mitty and Yorba Linda. Just a slight bump for Santiago of Corona after win over Norco.
New Softball State Top 20
California of San Ramon surges up to No. 17 as state’s lone newcomer this week. Unbeaten Archbishop Mitty also gets a bump into the top five. The rest of the top group, however, is dominated by Orange County.
New Baseball State Top 20
Preseason No. 1 Cathedral Catholic hanging on by a thread due to suspensions, but still could be dangerous team for the playoffs. This week’s only newcomer is Redlands, which also have moved to the top of its CIF Southern Section division.

With James Logan loss, all of Northern California takes a hit this week. Orange County teams also are now sitting in four of the top five positions. This week’s highest newcomer, meanwhile, is Moorpark.

Mater Dei, St. Francis strengthen hold on top two spots so much so that one loss may not change anything. Newcomers include Rancho Bernardo, Bonita of La Verne and Lincoln of Stockton.

What to do with Carew tournament finalists Pacifica and Yorba Linda? We finally make the move of the duo to No. 9 and No. 10. Also going in as newcomers this week are Lakewood and Soquel.

The Trinity League rules as Mater Dei wins SoCal Boras Classic while Orange Lutheran takes Hard 9 National Classic. This week’s other newcomers besides the Lancers are Oaks Christian, Amador Valley and Turlock.
New State Softball Top 20
No. 1 Amador Valley heads into Carew Classic with six shutouts in seven games. No. 5 Norco also is in that event. With Amador gone, Livermore Stampede will still go on with top field, led by No. 6 Mitty.
New Baseball State Top 20
Six teams break into this week’s honor roll as newcomers, including tourney champions San Dieguito and Pleasant Grove. Mater Dei remains No. 1 after second straight NHSI title in North Carolina while NHSI runner-up Harvard Westlake is back up to No. 5.
