Baseball, Softball Final State Top 20s
Following State Teams of the Year College Park of Pleasant Hill and Yucaipa, baseball’s highest risers at the end include Rancho Bernardo, JSerra, San Ysidro and Redondo. For softball, it’s Norco, Santiago of Corona, East Union and La Serna.
College Park State Team of the Year
Baseball’s final No. 1 state ranking is going to the Falcons of the CIF North Coast Section. St. Francis of Mountain View was strongly considered and was ahead of College Park last week, but has to stay No. 2. Even though it’s baseball, in the end a head-to-head result is the difference.

Falcons cap 26-4 baseball season by winning CIF North Coast Section Division I title and avenge one of losses with 5-2 win against De La Salle of Concord. Can they move up from No. 3 to No. 1 in final state rankings?

There will be no second straight State Team of the Year and no second straight mythical national title for the Diablos after they lose 1-0 in CIF Southern Section Division II final. Thunderbirds avenged two earlier losses, but win game that means the most.
San Dimas baseball falls to 31-1
It’s not a list any of these teams want to be on, but San Dimas is perhaps the best of them all. These would be top teams in state history that were unbeaten, then lost in a section playoff. Almost all of them lost in CIF Southern Section contests.
