The Ceres High infielder nudged Gatorade National Player of the Year Madilyn Nickles of Merced for top local honor in Stanislaus/Merced County and does the same for state’s highest, longest-running individual softball selection. Softball Coach of Year: Judy Shaubach
Her teams have won two straight CIF Central Section championships and she’s approaching 600 all-time wins since 1989. Add it all up and Madera’s Judy Shaubach gets the nod as the State Softball Coach of the Year. She’s also the first from her section to earn this honor since 1981.
