What we learned at the 2013 Nike Extravaganza
Seven boys teams ranked in the Cal-Hi Sports state top 20 were in action this weekend at Mater Dei’s two-day event. The event’s results will impact this week’s state rankings. Beyond that, there are a few other things we learned about California’s high school boys basketball scene.
New State Top 20 Boys BB Rankings
With the Nike Extravaganza coming up Saturday at Mater Dei, the major moves in this week’s new order involve St. John Bosco, El Camino Real, Mission Viejo, Hart and Serra of Gardena. New divisional boys and girls rankings being done later this week as well.
MLK Classic: Salesian rallies in fourth quarter to beat De La Salle
Other winners in the annual event played at Cal’s Haas Pavilion are Bishop O’Dowd, Deer Valley, St. Patrick-St. Vincent, Palo Alto and Campolindo. We’ve got highlights from each game.
All-State Football: Juniors
St. John Bosco, El Cerrito, Corona Centennial and Central of Fresno among those with multiple honorees. The next all-state team being worked on will be for small schools. This is the 34th year of the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams.
All-State Football Nominees (NorCal)
The process to select the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams, which will be done for the 34th consecutive season, begins with list of nominees from CIF Northern California sections. We are open to get additional nominees from parents, coaches and fans.
Top 25 Weekend Scoreboard
Winners of showdowns involving top 10 teams are No. 2 Santa Margarita and No. 5 Narbonne but Santa Margarita loses star QB with knee injury.
