Week 7 State Top 25 Scoreboard
It’s another SEC-style night in the CIF Southern Section’s Trinity League as No. 1 St. John Bosco wins 49-44, No. 3 Mater Dei wins 20-17 and No. 17 Santa Margarita wins 42-41. The night’s biggest upset, meanwhile, comes in the CIF Central Section where No. 1 Edison falls to Sanger.

There will be a new No. 1 in San Diego after Helix goes down to Cathedral Catholic and a new No. 1 in the Central Coast Section after Valley Christian loses to Milpitas. Plus, No. 6 Long Beach Poly falls to No. 9 Corona Centennial.
Week 2 State Top 25 Scoreboard
Del Oro knocks off Vista Murrieta in significant Saturday night matchup. On Friday, No. 1 St. John Bosco and No. 2 De La Salle both defeat strong out-of-state opponents while No. 10 Centennial comes up just short in upset bid of Nevada’s Bishop Gorman. Highest ranked team to get upset, meanwhile, was No. 13 Upland.

This scoreboard is now updated through all games of Saturday’s Honor Bowl in Oceanside plus additional notes & highlights. From Friday games, Bakersfield losing in the CIF Central Section by one point to Fresno Edison, which will now be unquestioned No. 1 in that section, among key results.

California split its games on the first night of the Honor Bowl in Loomis as Elk Grove defeated Damonte Ranch (Reno, Nevada) 55-7 before Kamehameha (Hawaii) defeated Del Oro (Loomis) 25-17

This is the 12th preseason all-section or all-area football team we have compiled and covers schools from the entire CIF Sac-Joaquin Section from Yuba City to Merced and including Napa and Solano counties.
