MLK CIF Open Division Preview?
California’s top two girls teams – Mater Dei of Santa Ana and St. Mary’s of Stockton – both win during Saturday’s MLK Showcase at St. Mary’s. It was a solid win for the Monarchs but more of a crazy one for the Rams. We have the scores and at least one highlight from every game.
State Stat Stars of the Week
Maranatha’s Tyler Dorsey continues to pump up scoring average above 30 points Monte Vista’s Mitu hits for 36 in win over Folsom. A freshman girl, meanwhile, who has begun her career with 38, 37 and 34 points also makes it onto this week’s honor roll.

State Stat Stars of the Week
Two boys players get into a shootout and both hit the 50-point mark while one of our girls honorees gets listed with a 42-point, 14-steal, 12-assist triple-double. That girl, though, San Bernardino Arroyo Valley’s Tamera Trigg, is on a team now in the hot seat for winning 161-2 earlier this week.
