Related: Showcase in California’s Central Valley set for October 26
There are a plethora of fall leagues and showcases nearly every week in Southern California where boys basketball players can compete against other talented players in hopes of increasing their scholarship chances.
For the past month, we’ve been taking in various weekend Fall Leagues in SoCal to get further insight on teams for our preseason Cal-Hi Sports state rankings. For the next two weekends, however, we’ll likely shift gears and evaluate individual players at showcases. The weekend following the West Coast Super Showcase presented by CaliforniaPreps.com in Fresno October 26 will be the fall edition of the West Coast Showdown Showcase at Cypress College in Orange County on Sunday, November 3.
The West Coast Showdown Showcase is open to players currently enrolled in high school (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 classes). The one day event at Cypress City College takes place from 9AM – 5pM. It is recommended to arrive on time to make sure you are properly enrolled and identified. The cost is $100 per participant and each student-athlete receives a Showdown Showcase t-shirt. Each participant needs to provide their own shoes and shorts to compete at the event.
There will be at least three scouts with NCAA Certified scouting services in attendance at the West Coast Showdown Showcase, including event director Don Small of GPAScouting.
