The early television lineup of high school football games for Fox Sports has been announced.
Fox Sports West will televise Hart at Santiago of Corona on Friday, August 30 (8:30 pm PT, delayed). On Friday, September 6, Prime Ticket will televise Student Sports FAB 50 ranked Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) at Santa Margarita (7:30 pm PT).
On Friday, September 13, Fox Sports West will air Centennial of Corona vs. Long Beach Poly in a highly-anticipated contest played at Mission Viejo High School (8:30 pm PT, delayed). The Huskies and Jackrabbits both figure to be in the top 10 of the Cal-Hi Sports preseason state rankings set to be released at the end of this week. On that same Friday the 13th, the Cal-Hi Sports Caravan will get another glimpse of Bishop Gorman, ranked No. 16 in the FAB 50, against Crespi of Encino in Las Vegas.
On Thursday, September 19, Fox Sports West will air Chaminade of West Hills at Oaks Christian of Westlake Village (7 pm PT). Two games are on tap for Friday, September 27: Edison of Huntington Beach at Mater Dei of Santa Ana on Fox Sports 1 (7 pm PT) and Westlake of Westlake Village at Crespi of Encino on Fox Sports West (8:30 pm PT, Delayed).
FAB 50 No. 11 St. John Bosco of Bellflower at Santa Margarita in a Trinity League affair is on tap for Friday, October 11 on Fox Sports 1 (7pm PT).
This will be the 17th consecutive season of Fox airing high school football. The seed to televise these games beginning in 1997 was planted by the executives of Student Sports and Cal-Hi Sports. Former Bishop Amat of La Puente and USC two-sport star John Jackson will be in the booth as a analyst for the 17th consecutive season.
There will be two nationally-televised games involving California teams on ESPN this year as part of its 11th annual GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase. Fresno of Central will travel to Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) on Saturday, August 24 (7 pm PT, ESPN2). On Friday, September 13, FAB 50 No. 4 De La Salle of Concord will travel to Stockton to take on St. Mary’s (7pm PT, ESPNU) in a game the Cal-Hi Sports Caravan will be at.
