State Stat Stars of the Week

No, it wasn’t 1,000 points but 1,000 career rebounds for senior Karena Eberts (left in middle) that was being celebrated last week at Miramonte of Orinda. This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. More than lists and numbers, we can provide historical context since we’ve maintained state records in California for more than 40 years. This week’s honor roll covers the past two weeks due to our schedule being different last week with all of the MLK Day games that we counted in the rankings. Milestones were the big story of the week. For boys, it was 3,000 points for Logan Kilbert plus 2,000 for Jason Crowe Jr. (just a sophomore), Tyrone Riley and Ronnie Roche. For girls, two from the Central Section reached 2,000 points while Karena Eberts snagged her 1,000th rebound. Three head coaches also reached 500 wins, but we have to use an asterisk for two of them.
