State Stat Stars of the Week

Lost in all of the controversy surrounding the Torres of Madera team’s OT win over Shafter in the Central Section was the great game that Toros’ QB Jose Soriano (left) had. This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. More than lists and numbers, we can provide historical context since we’ve maintained state records in California for more than 40 years. In that strange game that Torres of Madera won in OT over Shafter from the Central Section, the Torres QB threw for nearly 400 yards. There also was a 400-yard outing from Culver City’s Sammy Silvia. For rushing, L.A. Jordan’s David Sandy has 2,000 yards in his last 8 games. We also have our very first boys/girls basketball players listed for the 2023-24 season.

Note: This is a post only for our Gold Club members on CalHiSports.com.
