As usual with some parents just coming into the high school scene, we had questions about an all-state freshman team. There’s never been one in 40 years of doing these teams because we’ve learned that many of the best players from future seasons have simply not played much yet at major programs like Mater Dei, St. John Bosco, De La Salle, Long Beach Poly and elsewhere. It’s also hard enough to find qualified, legit all-state level sophomore linemen so spending the extra time doing the same for freshmen just isn’t possible.
