Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five schools in CIF Sac-Joaquin Section history with the most unbeaten season, according to CalHiSports.com.
This is the sixth season that CalHiSports.com and FOX 40 have partnered together to have these SJS Top 5 lists as part of the station’s weekly high school football highlights show. Tune in on Fridays at 10:30 for the Game of the Week, top four plays and more. The top 5 list from last week’s show is later revealed on our site. For the top 5 list for this week, it will be the top five linebackers section history. Check out the show to see those names revealed.
TOP 5 SCHOOLS IN CIF SAC-JOAQUIN SECTION HISTORY
FOR HAVING THE MOST UNBEATEN SEASONS
(It’s actually a five-way tie)
(This includes playoffs for years after 1974)
6 – Central Catholic (Modesto)
The first one for the Raiders was in 1973. The last one was 16-0 in 2015.
6 – Los Banos
The first one for the Tigers was in 1932. The last one was 12-0 in 1988.
6 – Rio Vista
The first one for the Rams was in 1945. The last one was 8-0 in 1966.
6 – Turlock
The first one for the Bulldogs was in 1948. This includes a very rare 6-0-4 in 1966 and one from just last spring.
6 – Woodland
The first one for the Wolves was in 1906. The last was 10-0 in 1970.
Note: Cordova (Rancho Cordova) & Folsom both have five.
