Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five offensive linemen this fall in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, according to CalHiSports.com.
This is the sixth season that CalHiSports.com and FOX 40 have partnered together to have these SJS Top 5 lists as part of the station’s weekly high school football highlights show. Tune in on Fridays at 10:30 for the Game of the Week, top four plays and more. The top 5 list from last week’s show is later revealed on our site. For the top 5 list for this week, it will be the top five defensive linemen. Check out the show to see those names revealed.
5. Zaire Simonton (Granite Bay)
This junior who is 6-3, 340 was sophomore MVP lineman at the National Prep Showcase. He played at Antelope previously.
4. Hayden Jones (St. Mary’s, Stockton)
A true center in the line, Hayden is 6-3, 260-pounder who also has 4.0 GPA.
3. Alani Noa (Grant, Sacramento)
They like them big at Grant and Alani is 6-4, 320 and is just a junior. He has an offer from Cal.
2. Simione Pale (Elk Grove)
All of the Pac-12 has offers for this 6-4, 330-pounder. Pale also has 4.6 GPA. He was an all-state sophomore for the recent spring season.
1. Bobby Piland (Rocklin)
He could be defense, but we’re going offense. The 6-2, 290-pound four-year starter is one of the top two-way linemen in California. When he pulls around as a guard on offense, DBs are in big trouble.
Thanks to Jim and the FOX 40 team for letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.
