There may not be any CIF Southern Section playoffs this year, but that hasn’t prevented the best of the best playing each other. That’s why there’s a new No. 1 for the first regular season rankings of 2021 as Orange Lutheran goes back to the same place it stood when the 2020 season was shut down. It also was decided this week to wait for several noteworthy Tuesday games to be accounted for, including Harvard-Westlake topping previous No. 1 JSerra plus Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks defeating Mater Dei (Santa Ana). This week’s newcomers include Damien of La Verne, M.L. King of Riverside, Woodcreek of Roseville and Dana Hills of Dana Point.
