Probably the two best point guards in state history would be Jason Kidd from St. Joseph of Alameda and Lonzo Ball of Chino Hills. It had to be one of the undefeated teams from McClymonds of Oakland between 1958 and 1962 or one of the two unbeatens from Compton (1968, 1969) sitting at the top of these rankings. We also felt strongly about putting the two 35-0 teams from the CIF state championship era (which began in 1980) way up there plus undefeated Inglewood of 1980. This group of teams also includes the greatest among several from Verbum Dei of Los Angeles that dominated Southern California in the early 1970s plus teams led by one of the best point guards in NBA history and a team with another point guard who went on to become a Hall of Famer in a different sport.
