Three of those on the all-state underclass first team are Gracie Keene of Saugus (right) and the duo of Courtney Beaudin and Nicole May from Foothill of Pleasanton. Keene already has been named the Foothill League Player of the Year and has committed to Tennessee. She batted .415 with eight homers and 35 RBI for the Centurions. May, the State Junior of the Year, gets most of the attention for Foothill, which was unbeaten CIF North Coast Section D1 champion. This is the first of four posts announcing the 37th annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Softball Teams and like baseball we are starting with the underclassmen. These are the best of the best for juniors, sophomores and freshmen. There are no frosh on first team underclass, but several from a strong group of Class of 2022 players are on second team.
