This week’s rankings were compiled with knowledge that one of the teams moving up, Pacifica of Garden Grove, is going through the hard-to-fathom and sudden death of 57-year-old head coach Mark Campbell. We’re thinking about his family and players, and know he will be greatly missed in the California softball community. In this week’s rankings, the first six teams are the same, but there are going to be some great matchups this week involving teams from the same league that should shake things up a bit for next week. This week’s group of four newcomers includes two schools right next door to each other — Westlake of Westlake Village and Oaks Christian of Westlake Village. The other two are Marina of Huntington Beach and Oakdale.
