The CIF could have gone in several directions for the NorCal 2-A, 3-AA and 3-A bowl games since those teams are bunched together fairly closely no matter how you slice it. For our State Top 50 this week, we went along with those placements for the most part and have put unbeaten San Joaquin Memorial and Tulare (playing each other on Saturday) at No. 41 and No. 42. We didn’t go along with the CIF North Coast Section D3 coin flip and rank Cardinal Newman of Santa Rosa behind Eureka (the Cardinals lost) but have added the unbeaten Loggers as another newcomer this week at No. 49.
