For the 2017-18 school year, for the first time, those selected for the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Teams in football were able to purchase patches with a certificate to commemorate the achievement. Thanks to our partners at BillyTees.com, we are proud to announce that the program was successful enough in football so that we will be offering it for the upcoming All-State teams in boys and girls basketball.
An image of what the all-state basketball patch (same one for both genders) will look like is included in this post. Once the various teams begin to be released (starting with the underclass squads), the patches and a certificate can be ordered through a link to the BillyTees.com website.
Adding the certificate with the name of the player also ensures some authenticity that the person ordering each patch is legitimately for a player actually on one of the all-state teams.
Every player who is selected for First Team All-State, Second Team All-State, Third Team All-State, all-state freshman, all-state sophomore, all-state junior, Open/Division 1 all-state, Division 2 all-state, Division 3 all-state, Division 4 all-state and Division 5 all-state is eligible to get a patch/certificate. While we are continuing to choose all-state teams by CIF divisions, there will be many more players selected for the higher divisions due to competitive equity factors.
If the patch award program through BillyTees.com continues to grow, at some point we may add all-state patches for previous seasons. This will be the 40th year of Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams in boys basketball, 39 for girls basketball.
