FINAL Girls BB State Top 40

Haley Jones of Archbishop Mitty was one of the top players in the nation on one of the top teams in the nation, but her team can’t really be No. 1 in the state if end-of-the-season results are viewed as more important than December tournaments. Photo: Willie Eashman.

As is another of our traditions, we present our expanded, final Top 40 overall girls basketball team rankings, this time covering the 2017-18 season. We don’t go by computers but by eyeballs and more than 35 years experience ranking and evaluating teams. That experience also has shown us that final No. 1 teams for a state need to win their last game, which is not the case apparently anymore for those who do national rankings. For our analysis and writeups on all 40 teams, check out this post.
