FOOTBALL

Senior Kazmeir Allen of Tulare set a school record by scoring eight touchdowns on runs of 17, 54, 33, 61, 5, 7, 60 & 10 yards in a 61-26 win over visiting Sunnyside of Fresno in the CIF Central Section D2 playoffs. The eights TDs also ties him with five others for the best in section history. Allen rushed for a personal best of 434 yards for the game as well on 31 carries.
RECORD WATCH: Allen has 63 touchdowns for the season (including 15 in the last two weeks alone) and a new section record. He only needs one more to tie and two more to break the single season Cal-Hi Sports state record of 64 set in 2000 by Tyler Ebell of Ventura. Kazmeir also has 113 career touchdowns, fourth best in section history, and 5,486 career rushing yards.

The section and the state in general lost a coaching giant last Saturday with the passing of Fresno Edison assistant coach and DB Guru Tony Perry. Cal-Hi Sports offers condolences to the west Fresno community. Photo: Fresno Bee/Buchanan Bears Facebook.
