We aren’t doing a column this week, but wanted to record more of these totals onto the site from last week’s football games. This list doesn’t include any SoCal/NorCal players of the week and for those from the CIF Central Section see separate post on this blog. Even more players are mentioned in our various State Top 50 team highlight writeups. We follow state stat stars each week in support of our exclusive Cal-Hi Sports State Record Book and are adding categories to the on-line files all the time.
Keyshawn Ashford (Woodside Priory, Portola Valley): This is from 8-man football in the CCS. Ashford had 21 carries for 227 yards and three TDs and had a 79-yard kickoff return TD in wild-and-wacky 68-66 loss to Pinewood of Los Altos Hills. Earlier this season, Woodside Priory won an 8-man game 92-0 vs. Crystal Springs Upland.
Isaiah Baker (Ramona, Riverside): The big news after Baker had 43 carries for 249 yards and all three TDs in team’s 19-14 win against Patriot of Riverside was that the result helped create a rare five-way tie for the River Valley League title. Ramona, Patriot, Hillcrest, Norte Vista and La Sierra all ended 3-2 in league games.
K.C. Carr (Tustin): Three-year standout for the Tillers toiled for 316 yards on a whopping 48 carries and scored four TDs in 39-20 triumph over Cypress.
Keith Davis (Scripps Ranch, San Diego): He scored six TDs in team’s 62-21 win over Mission Bay. Davis’ scores were on four receptions, one interception return and one run.

Daniel Jeremiah (Christian, El Cajon): In a 44-37 upset win over a Point Loma of San Diego team that had just beaten Madison and Cathedral Catholic in back-to-back weeks, Jeremiah connected on 19 27 passes for 429 yards and six TDs. He also went over 3,000 yards and the playoffs haven’t even started yet.
Tyler Jones (Aliso Niguel, Aliso Viejo): One of the state’s top receivers by stats, Jones hauled in 12 passes for 221 yards and one score in 33-0 blanking of Laguna Hills. He now has 87 catches for 1,392 yards and 17 TDs on the year.
D’Andrew Lopez (Mary Star, San Pedro): Both of the Stars’ TDs in their 48-14 loss to St. Genevieve of Panorama City came on kickoff returns by Lopez.
Jeremiah Martin (Cajon, San Bernardino): All-State Grid-Hooper from last year went bonkers with a reported six sacks during the Cowboys’ 35-14 victory over Redlands East Valley. Martin also is now listed with 23.0 sacks for the season to lead the state.
Chris Melesio (Norte Vista, Riverside): Brother of last year’s record-breaking Eric Melesio is putting up great numbers himself. The junior RB had 43 carries for 299 yards and four TDs in 49-41 loss to Hillcrest of Riverside. He also now has 2,341 yards and 25 TDs for the season.
Marcel Patterson (University City, San Diego): In a 55-31 victory over La Jolla that pushed the Centurions to 9-1, Patterson shined with 280 yards rushing on 21 carries and scored four times.
Chase Scott (Placer, Auburn): Junior LB racked up 16 tackles and intercepted a pass as Hillmen wrapped up league title with 49-20 win against Lincoln.
