No. 1 Mater Dei, No. 2 St. John Bosco and No. 5 De La Salle all win on Saturday but it was only easy for the Monarchs, who played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Bosco came from behind to beat St. John’s in Washington DC while DLS held off upset bid at home vs. No. 23 Central of Fresno. No. 4 Mission Viejo wins Friday against No. 8 Santa Margarita. No. 21 St. Francis of Mountain View was highest-ranked team to lose, but can’t call 28-21 win by Valley Christian (San Jose) on Friday an upset.

1. Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 5-0
Defeated No. 40 St. Mary’s (Stockton) 52-14 Saturday at Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara). Samuela Tuihalamaka picked up a fumble on St. Mary’s first play and scored to get the rout going for the Monarchs. J.T. Daniels ended with four TD passes (two to Nikko Remigio) while sophomore Chris Street ran for an 11-yard score and took a shovel pass for a 65-yard TD. The Monarchs got on the bus and headed back to Orange County after the game.
2. St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 4-1
Defeated St. John’s (Washington DC) 21-17 on Saturday in nation’s capital. The Braves were down 17-7 but rallied in the fourth quarter behind sophomore QB D.J. Uiagalelei. He led two TD drives, first hitting George Holani for a 21-yard TD and then Holani scored on a 2-yard run with 1:59 left.
3. Centennial (Corona) 3-1
Did not play. Huskies had a bye. Only loss 40-20 to IMG Academy of Florida.
4. Mission Viejo 5-0
Defeated No. 8 Santa Margarita (Rancho SM) 28-23. The Diablos’ ground game got rolling in the second half behind Akili Arnold (TD run, TD catch) and Chris Mitchell. Joey Yellen also threw a 28-yd TD pass to Olaijah Griffin.

5. De La Salle (Concord) 4-1
Defeated No. 23 Central (Fresno) 49-30 Saturday night at home. Spartans didn’t have top RB Kairee Robinson, but junior Henry To’ot’o stepped up from his usual linebacker spot and rushed for four scores. The defense also got key stops when Central had chances to take the lead.
6. Long Beach Poly (Long Beach) 3-1
Defeated Millikan (Long Beach) 28-0. The Jackrabbits only led 6-0 at halftime in their first game against Moore League competition.
7. Folsom 5-0
Defeated Woodcreek (Roseville) 55-14. Joe Ngata’s 90-yard touchdown reception from Kaiden Bennett (both of them are juniors) helped break the game open.
8. Santa Margarita (Rancho SM) 4-1
LOST to No. 4 Mission Viejo 28-23. Josiah Norwood had an 81-yard TD run for the Eagles, who will play Mater Dei in their Trinity League opener in two weeks.
9. Rancho Cucamonga 5-0
Defeated Citrus Hill (Perris) 30-0. Citrus Hill came into the game at 4-0 and was No. 41 in last week’s State Top 50. Long TD runs by Nick Acosta (65 yards) and Justyn Alexander (58 yards) got the Cougars going.
10. Chaminade (West Hills) 4-1
Defeated Crespi (Encino) 39-7. Up next for the Eagles is a big game Thursday at home vs. No. 20 Serra (Gardena).
11. Calabasas 4-0
Defeated El Camino (Woodland Hills) 35-8. Top-ranked team in Ventura County and No. 2 by L.A. Daily News will have huge test on Thursday against No. 15 Valencia.
12. Lutheran (Orange) 5-0
Defeated Heritage (Menifee) 34-21. That was Heritage’s 40-game regular season win streak that went poof in the night. Ryan Hilinski threw two TD passes each to Nick Acosta and Justyn Alexander.

13. JSerra (San Juan Capistrano) 5-0
Defeated Los Alamitos 32-10. That’s the same Los Al squad that lost in its opener 28-10 to Long Beach Poly.
14. Servite (Anaheim) 5-0
Defeated Garfield (Los Angeles) 49-14. The Friars led 42-0 at halftime and will now start prepping for next game in two weeks against JSerra.
15. Valencia 4-0
Defeated Bakersfield 56-14. Carson Sato ran back two fumbles for touchdowns on defense while on offense Mykael Wright caught TD passes for 75 and 65 yards from Connor Downs.
16. San Clemente 4-0
Defeated Palos Verdes (PV Estates) 14-0. In game played at El Camino College, the Tritons only led 7-0 and PV was driving as the fourth quarter began. The defense held, however, and an insurance score cemented the win.
17. Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 4-0
Did not play. Trojans were on the bye for first week of Sierra Foothill League. Their league opener is next Friday at Woodcreek (Roseville).
18. Mission Hills (San Marcos) 5-0
Defeated Oceanside 41-3. The CIF San Diego Section’s top team continues to roll and will have a bye next week.
19. Narbonne (Harbor City) 2-3
LOST to St. Louis (Honolulu, Hawaii) 56-50 late Saturday at Aloha Stadium. The Gauchos did become the first team to lead unbeaten Crusaders at halftime this season, but couldn’t hold on. QB Jalen Chatman passed for 516 yards and 5 TDs. St. Louis QB Chevan Cordeiro had seven TD passes, including four in fourth quarter alone to Mitchell Quinn.
20. Serra (Gardena) 2-2
Defeated Alemany (Mission Hills) 38-20. Big-time junior Max Williams scored on an interception return and also on a scoop and scoot fumble. The Cavs are at No. 10 Chaminade on Thursday.

21. St. Francis (Mountain View) 2-2
LOST to No. 32 Valley Christian (San Jose) 28-21. The Lancers scored with 1:42 left to cut the margin but didn’t get the ensuing onside kick. A 90-yard TD run by VC’s D’Angelo McKenzie gave the Warriors a 28-14 lead.
22. San Ramon Valley (Danville) 4-0
Defeated California (San Ramon) 37-6. Talk about a reversal from previous year. The Wolves lost to this same team 37-7 last season and hadn’t beaten the Grizzlies since 2011.
23. Central (Fresno) 4-1
LOST to No. 5 De La Salle (Concord) 45-30 on Saturday at DLS. Big plays kept the Grizzlies in it and they had the ball in the second half twice in which they could have scored to take the lead. Many teams down 28-10 to DLS like Central was are done but head coach Kyle Biggs’ boys came back.
24. Granite Bay 5-0
Defeated No. 38 Del Oro (Loomis) 28-21. Jade Foddrill went 71 yards for a TD to give Grizzlies a two-score lead. Evan Tattersall also rushed for two TDs.
25. Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) 3-2
LOST to Murrieta Valley (Murrieta) 38-20. This loss hurts because Murrieta Valley was 2-2 itself coming in with losses to San Clemente and Corona Santiago. Oaks Christian’s other loss was to Chaminade in its opener.

you used to post the scoreboard for all, not just gold members….did that chsnge in the last few weeks?
It’s not marked Gold Club so everyone should be able to see it. If you’re having a problem, it’s not our fault.
Why are the top 25 scores not available?
Now I’m not sure what was happening. Re-did the permissions on the scoreboard to make sure. We are not yet a full subscription site and intention is to remain a mix of free and Gold Club. Interested sponsors can simply contact markjtennis@gmail.com to see what can be worked out. We’d do plenty of social media promotion with any and all.

Saw Dela play Central Saturday night (Also saw San Ramon play Cal Hi Friday night which I’ll comment about that sometime later).
Although none of the DLS backs had the break away speed of Kairee Robinson, DT Tuli Latuligasenoa’s absence (he got his knee popped out probably for the season last week in Vegas by Gorman) was by far Dela’s biggest detriment in facing the Grizzlies.
Other than Dela’s 1st possesion drive, most of the game’s scoring was the result of big plays and opponents’ mistakes. Both teams adjusted very well throughout the game, and it was 1 of the hardest hitting HS FB games I’ve seen. It was a lot closer than the final score; the game could have gone either way.
I’ll be quite surprised if Fresno Central doesn’t win CS D1 Championship!(I moved Central from #21to#19 in my Calif. Top 30 in spite of their 30-49 loss to DLS, and they’ll probably get higher than that after more games get settled south of the Grapevine.)
Definitely don’t see Bakersfield winning again, but Central has some teams in its league that may challenge — Buchanan and Clovis West. Like the why CW handled Rocklin two weeks ago. If they had Adrian Martinez this season, might even be better than Central. Speaking of injuries, if Tuli is out for the year that’s a huge blow. DLS has very few linemen other than him who can compete with many of the linemen at MD, Bosco, Centennial, even Mission Viejo.
