Amazing season for junior Anyssia Gibbs from Granite Hills of Apple Valley continues with 48-point outing vs. Silverado. This week’s best also includes a 52-point performance in a 109-100 four-overtime game from Calvary Murrieta’s Ryley Collom, who only averages 13 ppg, plus we have a triple-double from Saratoga’s Joel Schneidmiller, who also happens to be one of the top volleyball players in Northern California.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Kim Aiken (Redlands East Valley, Redlands)
The 6-foot-7 senior capped a strong week with 32 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks as the Wildcats beat Citrus Valley of Redlands 68-42 in their Citrus Belt League final game. Aiken, who is averaging 25 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, had 23 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks earlier in the week against Cajon of San Bernardino.

Adrian Antunez (Clovis West, Fresno)
He scored a game high of 30 points in a 74-62 win over Buchanan of Clovis and scored another 30 points in winning fashion against host Clovis East in leading the Golden Eagles to a 64-59 triumph. The senior also now has scored 1,612 points, which according to CIF Central Section historian Bob Barnett is third best in school history.
Riley Battin (Oak Park)
Oak Park and its junior standout are one of those teams that could lose twice early in the loaded CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs and then make a big run at one of the CIF divisional state titles. Battin had a dominant outing last week with 35 points and 14 rebounds as the Eagles blew out Simi Valley 92-46.
Thomas Brown (Menlo School, Atherton)
Despite scoring his career-high of 30 points, it was not enough to prevent a 74-59 loss to Pinewood of Los Altos Hills. On the season, this junior is averaging 13.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Knights.
Ryley Collom (Calvary Murrieta, Murrieta)
In a wild-and-wacky 109-100 game that went to four overtimes with Calvary Murrieta on top of Santa Rosa Academy, you’d expect a stat star or two and Collom was it. He is only averaging about 13 ppg, but on that night he made eight 3-pointers and racked up 52 points. Collom’s previous high was 28.
Avo Danielian (Grant, Van Nuys)
Averaging nearly 20 points per game during his senior season playing for legendary San Fernando Valley coaching icon Howie Levine (who won his 500th game earlier this season), Avo had 30 points during a 80-56 win for the Lancers over Chavez of San Fernando.
Dameane Douglas (Hanford West, Hanford)
One of the top grid-hoopers in the CIF Central Section, Douglas scored a game high of 38 points in a 66-53 win by the Huskies over Mt. Whitney of Visalia.
George Ellegood (Cupertino)
This junior’s previous career-high was just 23 points but he had a big night during a 48-46 win over Los Altos as he made six three-pointers and finished with 30 points. His dad, Craig Ellegood, is the head coach of the Pioneers.
Luke Enthoven (Los Altos)
Coming up just two blocks shy of a triple-double, Enthoven had 30 points and 14 rebounds to go along with his eight blocks during a 69-54 win over Milpitas.
Jacob Halderman (Hayfork)
For the second time this season, this senior scored 44 points in a game as he matched his season-high while also grabbing 11 rebounds and seven steals during a 66-51 win over Dunsmuir. This multi-sport athlete is averaging 27.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game on the court after a football season that saw him rush for 1,538 yards and 17 touchdowns with 134 total tackles on defense.
Gyse Hulsebosch (East Union, Manteca)
While his impressive performances actually came two weeks ago, we wanted to get him in as he set back to back season highs when he scored 40 points during a 79-76 win over Lathrop and two nights later he had 42 points during a 75-70 win over Sierra of Manteca.
Matt Martinez (Oakwood, North Hollywood)
It wasn’t more than 30 points and it was a loss, but Martinez makes the honor roll with 29 points for the Gorillas in their 68-58 defeat at the hands of Encino Holy Martyrs. What he did do was go past 2,000 career points in that game and ended the regular season with 2,023.
Sebastian Much (JSerra, San Juan Capistrano)
Orange Lutheran had a little more than they could handle against Much. The talented big man scored 30 points during a 70-66 win for the Lions over the Lancers in the Trinity League.
Charles Neal (Rancho Mirage)
Making sure the Rattlers would finish a perfect 10-0 in the De Anza League, one of our recent SoCal Players of the Week scored 35 points during a 69-67 win over Twentynine Palms.
A.J. Perry (Canyon, Anaheim)
The Comanches ended the regular season by winning eight of their final 10 games and last week defeated Foothill pf Tustin 78-73 with Perry leading the offense (29 points).
Joel Schneidmiller (Saratoga)
Spiking volleyballs or blocking shots, Schneidmiller is a standout on the court as he had a triple-double during a 48-46 loss to Mountain View. Schneidmiller totaled 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks. Listed at 6-foot-6, he was the Mercury News boys volleyball player of the year last spring.
Brandon Unaka (Washington Prep, Los Angeles)
The Generals pulled into a first place tie in the Marine League with an impressive 66-62 win over Narbonne of Harbor City as he had a big double-double during the win with 19 points and 21 rebounds.
Enriguez Vallecillo (Avenal)
Helped by making 10-of-13 from the free throw line, Vallecillo scored 32 points as the Buccaneers nipped Dos Palos 57-56. Enriguez leads the CIF Central Section in scoring with a 26.4 average.
Shannon Wafer (North, Bakersfield)
A star for the Stars, Wafer broke the school record for points scored in a career after he scored 26 points against Mira Monte of Bakersfield in a 96-95 loss. He also had 17 points in a return game vs. Mira Monte that North won 65-63 and upped his career total to 1,547 points. Johnny Machado had the previous school record with 1,540 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Shanaijah Davison (Pioneer, Woodland)
Nearly outscoring Yuba City on her own, Davidson had 31 points, six steals and five rebounds as the Patriots defeated the Honkers 52-36. In 18 games, this senior captain is averaging 34.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.2 steals per game.

Camara Douglas (Mt. Miguel, Spring Valley)
Here’s yet another standout from one of the top programs in the San Diego area that has been led for many years by head coach Robbie Sandoval. In her biggest game of last week, Douglas went for 36 points and nine rebounds in a 74-26 triumph over Granite Hills of El Cajon. She also had 25 points and 17 rebounds in a 76-55 win vs. Mater Dei Catholic of Chula Vista plus 17 points and 17 rebounds vs. Helix of La Mesa (60-34 win).
Naelene Garcia (Downey)
In a 85-30 win vs. Paramount that enabled the Vikings to wrap up their first San Gabriel Valley League title in school history, this senior guard came through with a career high 30 points. She bounced back after not scoring at all in her previous game.
Anyssia Gibbs (Granite Hills, Apple Valley)
This high-scoring junior lit up the high desert last Friday with a career-high 48 points to lead her team past Silverado of Victorville 75-50. She also made a career-high nine 3-point baskets. Gibbs has been one of the state’s top scorers all season and headed into the CIF Southern Section playoffs averaging 30.2 ppg. She’s led the Desert Sky League in all statistical categories (except turnovers). In addition to the scoring, Gibbs was at 11.8 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 9.0 steals per game.
Hannah Hurley (Kern Valley, Lake Isabella)
The standout sophomore, who sat out her previous game vs. Frazier Mountain to nurse an injury, came out hot on last Friday scoring the first 12 points for the Lady Broncs in an eventual 67-50 win vs. Rosamond. Hurley finished with a game high 31 points and had four assists and six rebounds. Freshman teammate Aliyah Johnson had 29 points and nine rebounds in the same game.
Angel Jackson (Salesian, Richmond)
Just a sophomore, she came up two points shy of her third triple-double this season as she scored eight points to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots during a 65-32 win over Hercules. The game before she matched her season-high with 21 points during a 70-65 loss to Sacred Heart Cathedral of San Francisco.
Kayla Konrad (Valencia)
Make it five straight league titles in a row for the Vikings with the last four including Konrad on the squad. In a 79-21 win last week over Hart of Newhall, Konrad was stellar with 39 points to set a career best. Konrad also came within two points of tying the Foothill League record of 41 set in 1990. She will play next at UC Davis.
Destiny Littleton (Bishop’s, La Jolla)
For the third time this season, she scored over 60 points in a game. Littleton also outscored Horizon Christian Academy of San Diego on her own as she scored 61 points during the 81-51 win. Littleton also had a triple-double with 32 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists during a 81-51 win over Santa Fe Christian of Solana Beach.
Austyn Masuno (Oxford Academy)
This sophomore center has had several big games this season for the Academy League champions, including last week which saw her score 17 points and grab 23 rebounds as the Patriots extended their winning streak to seven games with a 45-34 win over Whitney of Cerritos. The Patriots are the No. 2 seed in the CIF Southern Section Division 5AA playoffs.
Hannah McArthur (La Habra)
Selected by OC Varsity as its player of the week, this senior center had three double-doubles in one week with her biggest performance coming during a loss to Sunny Hills of Fullerton. In that game, she scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds during the 52-51 loss in overtime. McArthur came back with 22 points and 18 rebounds the next night against the Lancers to win a battle for third-place in the Freeway League that clinched third a playoff spot.
Gabrielle Patton (Hayfork)
One of the leading shot-blockers in the state, Patton had her fifth game this season with at least 10 blocks when she blocked 10 to go with eight points and eight rebounds during a 47-44 loss to Tulelake. For the season, this senior center is averaging 13.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.2 blocks per game.
Ashanti Sticklen (Kennedy, Richmond)
If you go see the Eagles play, it is hard to miss this 6-foot-1 freshman who has made an impact early on in her high school career. Sticklen had two career-highs during a 65-21 win against Richmond as she scored 14 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to go along with seven blocks. In 18 games played this season, she is averaging 11.5 rebounds and 5.8 blocks per game.
Ilmar’l Thomas (Sacred Heart Cathedral, San Francisco)
Another week and another pair of big games for Thomas. First, she scored 31 points with 14 rebounds against St. Ignatius of San Francisco and finished with 22 points and 19 rebounds during a win over Presentation of San Jose.
Haley Van Dyke (Campolindo, Moraga)
Making sure there would be no let down after beating Miramonte of Orinda the week before, she had 34 points and 22 rebounds during a 72-56 win over Acalanes of Lafayette. Earlier in the week, the junior standout who is averaging 23 points and 15.5 rebounds a game had 18 points and 18 rebounds during a 77-25 win over Nortgate of Walnut Creek.
Regan Widenfeld (Livermore)
Nearly outscoring Monte Vista of Danville on her own, Widenfeld was the offense during a 60-52 win as she scored 42 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
Tati Zazuetta (Segerstrom, Santa Ana)
Sophomore point guard earns her second state stat star writeup of the season after she scored a game-high 33 points to lead the Jaguars to the Golden West League championship with a 64-59 win over Ocean View of Huntington Beach.
