Mission Hills and Carondelet flip this week based on a stronger overall resume for the Grizzlies over the Cougars but the Super 8 Girls doesn’t change other than that one move.

1. (1) Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) 16-2
The Monarchs likely could have won by a bigger margin than 64-48 on the road at Carondelet (No. 4 in last week’s rankings) but with a 59-38 lead with around three minutes left head coach Sue Phillips pulled most of her starters since the game was more than decided.

2. (2) Clovis West (Fresno) 21-2
After two easy victories in league games, the Golden Eagles hosted and roasted a Heritage of Brentwood team 75-37 that has been a highly ranked team in the East Bay.
3. (3) Long Beach Poly (Long Beach) 16-3
What’s a more dominant team in the Moore League – the Jackrabbit girls or the Jackrabbit football team? Checking the scores, they’re actually almost identical.
4. (5) Mission Hills (San Marcos) 20-2
We found out after the fact last week that the Grizzlies got their win over Sierra Canyon without that team’s top player in the lineup. Still, it was a tough win on the road at a team with several D1 prospects and has been top 10 in the state.
5. (4) Carondelet (Concord) 16-4
The Cougars’ win over St. Mary’s can only hold muster for so long and the overall body of work has to be looked at so after the loss to Mitty gives them four losses, that means a drop behind Mission Hills.
6. (6) Bishop O’Dowd (Oakland) 16-3
After being the up-and-down popcorn machine, the Dragons stay the same this week after two blowout wins against West Alameda County-Foothill League opponents.
7. (7) Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) 18-3
As was stated in the Mission Hills blurb, Long Beach State-bound Alexis Griggsby was out in the loss to Mission Hills after breaking her nose and there will be detail on whether she returned in a close 52-46 win at Ventura in the Top 20 writeup.
8. (8) Alemany (Mission Hills) 19-5
It was a tight one in a 48-45 win over a solid Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) squad but the Warriors got through the week unblemished to keep the Super 8 intact for this week, albeit slightly changed.
