Two receivers with 14 catches in one game – Evan King of Menlo School and Brenden Hall of Folsom Vista del Lago – are among the best of this week’s honor roll. Eric Melesio of Riverside Norte Vista with 55 carries, Manny Berz of Citrus Hill with 42nd career field goal and Kingsburg’s Bo Jackson also get written up.

Note: We will collect totals from MaxPreps, newspapers, tweets and from those sent in to us. We also will compile single-game highs from this post throughout the season and of course we use our weekly State Stat Stars collection as an aid for the Cal-Hi Sports State Record Book. That is the only state record book anyone has ever done and we have published it seven times with full copyright protection. To report totals to us for this feature and for the record book, email markjtennis@gmail.com or call 209-608-1317. You can also text to 209-608-1317.

(Writeups by Paul Muyskens, Mark Tennis & CIF Central Section historian Bob Barnett)
(For games played through Saturday, Oct. 29)

Kyle Anderson (Leland, San Jose)
Just a sophomore, he played a big part in the Chargers’ first win of the season as he rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns during a 22-14 win over Sobrato of Morgan Hill.

Manny Berz (Citrus Hill, Perris)
After nailing a 32-yard field goal for the Hawks in their 38-7 win over Beaumont, Berz has tied the Cal-Hi Sports state record for career field goals with 42. He tied the mark set in 2014 by Kevin Robledo from Westlake of Westlake Village. Berz also averaged 52 yards on three punts in that game.

Timothy Burkhardt (North Salinas, Salinas)
Completing just under 50 percent of his passes on the night, he went 28 of 57 for 412 yards and four scores during a 44-28 loss to San Benito of Hollister. San Benito improved to 9-0 so it was a strong outing against solid competition.

Zach Charbonnet (Oaks Christian, Westlake Village)
This sophomore RB has provided some great balance to the Lions’ offense, making it impossible for defenses to key too much on QB Matt Corral’s passing. He had 19 carries for 259 yards and four TDs in a 63-28 win vs. St. Bonaventure and earlier had a game in which he scored six times.

Jalen Chatman (Narbonne, Harbor City)
He continues to look like one of the top junior QBs in the state for a team that’s been as high as fifth in the State Top 25. Chatman went 17 of 20 for 312 yards and four TDs in last week’s 41-3 triumph by the Gauchos over San Pedro.

Robert Cozine (Taft)
One week after getting his second 400-yard game of the season, Cozine rushed for a game high of 316 yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns in a 63-13 blowout win by the Wildcats over Kennedy of Delano.

Joe Curry (Folsom)
Nearly half of his completions during a 47-14 road win over Rocklin went for touchdowns. Curry ended 15 of 25 for 287 yards and six touchdowns while also rushing for a score.

Bryce Fledderman (Mission Prep, San Luis Obispo)
Passing for 417 yards and two touchdowns wasn’t enough during a 53-42 loss to Templeton. Fledderman, a recent SoCal Offensive Player of the Week, also completed 26 of his 46 pass attempts.

Tristan Gebbia (Calabasas)
No stranger to being listed here, he completed 18 of his 22 pass attempts for 353 yards and five touchdowns while also rushing for a score as the Coyotes remained undefeated with a 47-14 win over Thousand Oaks. Gebbia and Nebraska-bound teammate Keyshawn Johnson are inspiring some Cornhusker fans to start calling the school Calabraska (which also is a reference to other California players who are playing there).

Brenden Hall (Vista del Lago, Folsom)
Catching the ball on a consistent basis during a 51-20 win over El Camino of Sacramento, he finished with 14 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Brent Schaeffer also passed for 394 yards and six touchdowns on the night.

Bo Jackson (Kingsburg)
We just had to get this namesake of one of the nation’s all-time best athletes into this week’s honor roll. Jackson rushed for a career high of 203 yards on 30 carries and scored one touchdown in a 33-7 triumph over Immanuel of Reedley.

Evan King & Hayden Pegley (Menlo School, Atherton)
King had 14 catches for 244 yards and two TDs when the Knights beat Woodside 45-35 to earn a share of the Peninsula Athletic League-Ocean crown. Pegley, also a senior, had big night as well throwing the ball. He ended 24 of 36 for 394 yards with no interceptions and four TDs.

Daishawn Lee (San Ysidro)
On 26 carries, the senior transfer from Michigan racked up 324 yards as his team edged Castle Park of Chula Vista 21-20. Lee got the party started early, too, with a 65-yard TD on the first play from scrimmage.

Dylan Lemle (Hawkins, Los Angeles)
Points were not at a premium during the Hawks’ 60-44 win over Crenshaw of Los Angeles. Lemle, who has several D1-bound recruits as targets, completed 17 of his 26 pass attempts for 413 yards and five touchdowns.

Graylon Lindsey (Sheldon, Sacramento)
Outscoring Pleasant Grove of Elk Grove on his own, Lindsey rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns as the Huskies won by a 35-18 final score.

Chris Lubinsky (Ceres)
The senior QB for the Bulldogs has now been over 400 yards passing twice and six times over 300 after a 42-41 loss to Pacheco of Los Banos. Lubinsky completed 33 of 46 passes for 466 yards and three TDs. He has more than 2,700 yards and 27 TDs for the season, which doesn’t look like will extend to the playoffs.

Nick Manuel (Arrowhead Christian, Redlands)
For best defensive outing in a game his team lost, Manuel would get the honor for this week. All he did was come up with four interceptions, returning one of them for a 53-yard TD, but it didn’t matter in a 21-14 loss to Ontario Christian.

Jonathan Martin (Culver City)
The Centaurs kept alive their season with a 56-20 win over Santa Monica behind Martin. Their QB completed 15 of 30 passes for 282 yards and five TDs. He also rushed for a score to give him six in all for the game.

Eric Melesio (Norte Vista, Riverside)
It’s not close to the state record of 71 carries for one game set in 2010 by Luis Soto of Santa Ana Saddleback, but Melesio makes the record book with his total of 55 carries for 271 yards and three TDs in Norte Vista’s 28-19 win over Hillcrest of Riverside. Melesio now has more than 2,500 yards and 33 TDs for the season.

Anthony Morales (Santa Paula)
The Cardinals improved to 5-4 on the year with a 42-13 win over Nordhoff of Ojai behind Morales, who rushed for 233 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries.

Darius Moses (Kennedy, Fremont)
Making his way through the Washington of Fremont defense for big gains, he rushed for 213 yards and a score on 17 carries during a 28-14 win.

Jeremy Moussa (Roosevelt, Eastvale)
Firing for his second game this season of seven touchdown passes, Moussa helped the Mustangs mangle Santiago of Corona 48-21. He ended 20 of 32 for 365 yards to go with his seven TDs. Moussa also has now thrown for 19 TDs in his last three games. His top target was Erik Brooks, who had eight receptions for 157 yards and four scores.

Griffin O’Connor (Edison, Huntington Beach)
Having himself an enjoyable Friday night during a 56-12 win over Fountain Valley, he completed 20 of his 26 pass attempts for 421 yards and five touchdowns.

Jessie Palmer (Maranatha Christian, San Diego)
Despite catching 11 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns, it wasn’t enough for a win as the Eagles lost 31-20 to Classical Academy of Escondido.

Dallas Prince (Mountain Empire)
In a 29-12 victory against San Diego Lutheran, Prince must have felt like a king by catching TD passes of 56 and 41 yards. On defense, he also reigned with eight tackles and a 36-yard interception return TD.

Junior Ramirez (Selma)
The quarterback for the unbeaten Bears had a perfect night by passing 10 for 10 good for 300 yards and a career high of four touchdowns in a 47-14 win over Exeter.

Jaylon Redd (Rancho Cucamonga)
Doing a bit of everything during a 44-24 win over Damien of La Verne, he rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries while also completing a pass and catching a pass.

Leonard Santos (Angelou, Los Angeles)
During a 56-33 win over Rancho Dominguez of Long Beach, he turned 28 carries into 368 yards and three touchdowns.

Trent Tompkins (Central, Fresno)
On his way to a lot of big honors as the sophomore QB for the top team in the Central Section, Tompkins led Central past Clovis West of Fresno last week 49-28. He had two career highs in the game by going for 27 of 41 for 291 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 52 yards rushing on nine carries.

Ponove Veimau (Sequoia, Redwood City)
It was a busy night and the public address announcer got plenty of practice saying Veimau’s name as he carried the ball 37 times for 220 yards and four touchdowns during a 39-30 win over The King’s Academy.
