Note: We will collect totals from MaxPreps, newspapers, tweets and from those sent in to us. We also will compile single-game highs from this post throughout the season and of course we use our weekly State Stat Stars collection as an aid for the Cal-Hi Sports State Record Book. That is the only state record book anyone has ever done and we have published it seven times with full copyright protection. To report totals to us for this feature and for the record book, email markjtennis@gmail.com or call 209-608-1317. You can also text to 209-608-1317.

(All players listed in alphabetical order)
(Writeups by Paul Muyskens, Mark Tennis & CIF Central Section historian Bob Barnett)
(For games played through Saturday, Oct. 8)
Roman Aguirre & Jamario Torres (La Sierra, Riverside)
It wasn’t enough in a 56-33 loss to Ramona of Riverside, but both Aguirre and Torres had stellar totals in the LS passing game. Aguirre completed 23 of 43 for 379 yards and three TDs. Torres caught nine passes for 248 yards and two scores.
Kazmeir Allen (Tulare)
Standout junior accumulated a total of 453 yards in a come from behind 62-35 win over host Monache of Porterville. Allen rushed for 154 yards on 10 carries and three touchdowns, had two receptions for 154 yards (two TDs) and returned two kickoffs for 145 yards (including a 95-yard TD). Sophomore quarterback Nathan Lamb also had a fine game by passing for 311 yards on 9 of 12 with three TDs.
Imanol Arredondo & Alex Puga (Caruthers)
This RB combo was used to bury Minarets of Oneals 56-15. Arredondo rushed for a career high of 207 yards on 10 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs of 14, 42, 57 & 12 yards. Puga rushed for 217 yards on 25 carries and three touchdowns on runs of 1, 23, 3 yards.
Earl Averette (Kennedy, Sacramento)
Having a hand in seven touchdowns during a 57-3 win over McClatchy of Sacramento, Averette passed for five touchdowns and rushed for two scores.
Nick Benson (Chadwick, PV Estates)
This is from an 8-man game but we had to get into this week’s listings. In the most crazy 8-man score we’ve seen so far this season, Benson was reported as scoring seven TDs when the Dolphins defeated Sage Hill of Newport Beach 91-56. The report also had Chadwick with “more than 700 rushing yards.”
Braxton Burmeister (La Jolla Country Day)
For him, what he did in LJCD’s 42-7 win vs. Maranatha Christian was somewhat pedestrian (214 passing, 4 TDs with 52 rushing, 2 TDs) but it was enough to break the CIF San Diego Section record for career total offense yards. He enters this week with 11,352 yards of total offense and also needs just one more TD pass to reach 100 for his career.
Kenneth Carr (Tustin)
Scoring all four of the touchdowns for the Tillers during a 27-24 win over Cypress, he scored the game-winner from two yards out with five seconds remaining. Carr, who could threaten school records held by former NFL star DeShawn Foster, finished with 309 yards on 35 carries. On the season, he has now rushed for 1,494 yards in six games.
Benji Cordova (La Quinta)
He carried the football 25 times for 226 yards and six touchdowns as the Blackhawks defeated Xavier Prep of Palm Desert 63-42.
Joe Curry (Folsom, Sacramento)
Leading the Bulldogs to a big 42-7 win at previously undefeated Del Oro of Loomis, he connected on 24 of 30 passes for 322 yards and six touchdowns.
JT Daniels (Mater Dei, Santa Ana)
Passing for 303 of his 305 yards in the first half, the super sophomore had a career-high seven touchdown passes before halftime as the Monarchs opened up Trinity League play with a 62-14 win over Santa Margarita of Rancho Santa Margarita. Since he played as a freshman, Daniels is on track to threaten some of the seemingly untouchable career state records set in 2014 by Folsom’s Jake Browning.
Thomas Duckett (Pacifica, Oxnard)
The Tritons opened up Pacific View League play with a 35-28 win over Oxnard Rio Mesa as this senior running back rushed for 207 yards and four scores on 35 carries.
Jacobi Hardy (Wilson, Long Beach)
With a school as old as Wilson, setting a school record becomes more difficult, but Hardy did it by scoring seven TDs when the Bruins beat Lakewood 53-20. He scored six times on rushing plays and had 20 carries for 153 yards. Hardy also reached the end zone on a 54-yard TD reception.
Cade Henjum (Saddleback Valley Christian, San Juan Capistrano)
The Warriors began San Joaquin League play with a 69-46 win over Southlands Christian of Walnut as their quarterback passed for 414 yards and six touchdowns. Henjum also rushed for 154 yards and four scores.
David Hernandez & Richard Herrera (Wilcox, Santa Clara)
When a team scores 83 points you would guess that they had more than six pass attempts but that was the case for the Chargers in their 83-48 win over Saratoga. What they did feature was the running game led by these two backs. Hernandez rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries and Herrera rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries. As a team, Wilcox combined to rush for 630 yards and 10 touchdowns. We have no total from a CIF Central Coast Section team in our state record files that is higher.
Jullen Ison (Moreau Catholic, Hayward)
Averaging nearly 20 yards per carry during a 57-21 win over American of Fremont, Ison rushed for 253 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
Jayden Jackson (Berean Christian, Walnut Creek)
Not only did he have four touchdown catches during a 54-12 win over Mt. Diablo of Concord but he also had two interceptions on defense.
Michael Johnson (Xavier Prep, Palm Desert)
Putting up numbers like he was Drew Brees on the New Orleans Saints, he completed 29 of his 43 pass attempts for 484 yards and six touchdowns during a 63-42 loss to La Quinta. Chandler Barbato also caught seven passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns while sophomore Fabrice Voyne caught 11 passes for 181 yards and one score.
Jarmar Julien Jr. (Oak Grove, San Jose)
While his teammate Grady Ryan was one of our NorCal Players of the Week, he also had a big night during a 48-14 win over Leigh of San Jose as he rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.
Rueben Lee (Brookside Christian, Stockton)
Playing in his first game for the Bruins after doing a mandatory sit out due to his transfer from Lincoln (Stockton), Lee led them in a 58-0 rout of Riverbank. Lee had 13 carries for 226 yards and three TDs, added five receptions for 69 yards and ran back a punt 78 yards for a fourth score.
William Liddle (Saratoga)
Completing 34 of his 59 pass attempts for 402 yards and six touchdowns, it was not nearly enough as the Falcons gave up 630 yards rushing and lost to Wilcox of Santa Clara 83-48.
Tyree Marcelle (Grant, Sacramento)
Helping the Pacers avoid being upset by Pleasant Grove of Elk Grove, he rushed for 262 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries during the 21-20 win.
Nolan Martinez (Yucaipa)
It was over early when the Thunderbirds topped Carter of Rialto 55-21 and by halftime Martinez also had six of his seven TD passes. Martinez finished 15 of 29 for 275 yards with his TDs coming on throws of 4, 53, 53, 18, 20, 2 and 7 yards.
Tristan Meyer (La Mirada)
His passing has been a major reason for the Matadores being able to show their own strength following those two lopsided losses to St. John Bosco and Mater Dei. In a 66-15 romp last week vs. Artesia of Lakewood, Meyer hit on 18 of 23 passes for 361 yards and seven TDs. Jeremy Clark was his top target with six catches for 155 and two scores.
Ethan Natera (Lindsay)
Just a freshman, Natera broke a school record for Lindsay by passing for six touchdowns and getting 310 yards (18 of 26) in a game against Sierra Pacific of Hanford. Unfortunately for him, Sierra Pacific won the shootout contest 55-52. Gerod Magee paced Sierra Pacific with 19 carries for 217 yards rushing and one score.
Leki Nunn (Serra, San Mateo)
Named by the San Jose Mercury News as its South Bay/Peninsula Athlete of the Week, he passed for 230 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 114 yards and two scores during a 41-40 win over previously undefeated St. Francis of Mountain View.
Jacob Paape (Valhalla, El Cajon)
Not only did he catch five passes for 50 yards and a touchdown during a 34-0 win over West Hills of Santee but he also kicked two field goals, including a school-record setting 51-yarder.
Michael Pittman (Oak Ridge, El Dorado Hills)
Yes, we do have a Michael Pittman at Oak Ridge this year to go with Mycah Pittman of Oaks Christian. This Pittman was the man during a 27-15 win over Rocklin as he scored on a 96-yard run and finished with 207 yards.
Luke Ramos (Heritage Christian, Northridge)
Making the most of his 10 carries, this sophomore rushed for over 200 yards once again as he rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns during a 65-49 win over Whittier Christian of La Habra.
Cameron Rising (Newbury Park)
During a 63-49 loss against SoCal Offensive Player of the Week Matt Corral and Oaks Christian of Westlake Village, he passed for 471 yards and five touchdowns while completing 34 of his 57 pass attempts. Rising, committed to Oklahoma, also rushed for 140 yards on 11 carries and scored once.
Reece Smith (Oak Park)
Making sure his head coach Casey Webb would head to his wedding the next day coming off of a 28-0 win over Nordhoff of Ojai, Smith had seven tackles, an interception that set up a score, a sack and caught seven passes for 125 yards.
Trent Tomkins (Central, Fresno)
Definitely a sophomore to watch, Tompkins led the Grizzlies past Buchanan of Clovis 37-21 as he passed for 317 yards on 19 of 30 and had four TD passes. He’ll hope for more of the same this week when Central hosts unbeaten Clovis in a matchup between the top two ranked teams in the CIF Central Section.
Lucas Triplett (Fort Bragg)
A familiar name to us from last season when he was catching passes from record-setting Fort Bragg QB Kaylor Sullivan, Triplett is now playing the QB position for the Timberwolves. In last week’s 44-21 win over St. Helena, Triplett completed 14 of 27 passes for 192 yards and rushed 19 times for 164 yards and four TDs. For the season in seven Fort Bragg games so far, Triplett has 1,506 yards passing and 13 TDs plus 627 yards rushing and six TDs.
Chris Volek (El Dorado, Placerville)
The son of El Dorado head coach Joe Volek outscored Rosemont of Sacramento on his own as he caught eight passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns during a 56-14 win.
Sherod White (Heritage, Menifee)
In handing Lakeside of Elsinore its first loss in a 50-6 win by the unbeaten Patriots, White led the way on both sides of the ball. He had 11 carries for 103 yards and three TDs on offense while on defense he came up with two interceptions.
Jordan Wilmore (Lawndale)
Despite having a 93-yard TD run called back on a penalty, Wilmore still piled up 247 yards rushing and scored twice in a 49-20 victory over Santa Monica. As a team, Lawndale also had 536 yards rushing.
Ian Zamudio (Notre Dame, Riverside)
A returning Cal-Hi Sports all-state small schools pick, Zamudio ran back a kickoff 98 yards for a TD and had a 45-yard punt return TD as the Titans beat Aquinas of San Bernardino 44-19 in a matchup of top SoCal small schools. Zamudio also set up a TD on a 38-yard reception and had another TD reception called back.
NOTE ON OAKS CHRISTIAN VS. NEWBURY PARK
Stats from the game in which the Lions defeated the Panthers 63-49 are now official: 1,451 yards for the two teams combined (which is No. 2 on all-time state).
Oaks Christian is being credited with 766 yards and Newbury Park with 685. In previous tweets by us, it was mentioned the both teams had more than 700 yards for the first time ever. Newbury Park’s total obviously has been lowered.
