The 36th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams package for baseball also includes 30 players named second team overall plus 50 more who are third team. The third team, however, is only for seniors and only for large schools.

Note: We’ll have an inside look at this year’s all-state baseball teams after all of the teams are chosen, including names of players we really wanted to pick but couldn’t. That post plus more unique California high school sports content is for Gold Club members only. To join our team today, CLICK HERE.
If you are chosen to any of the Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams, you should consider yourself an “all-state” player. Whether it’s first team overall, second team overall, third team, underclass, medium schools or small schools, to be on any of these teams should be considered an all-state honor.
There are 1,200 high schools in California and just about any place you go the competition in baseball is tremendous.
If you count players each year in the World Series, MLB Draft, opening day rosters, even the Little League World Series, it’s hard to beat California competition, coaching and talent.
We try to research and collect info from everywhere we can and we give people several weeks to send in nominations. Still, it’s not a perfect system so of course it’s possible to miss on a deserving player.
With that said, congratulations to the following 2016 Cal-Hi Sports all-state baseball second team members as well as third team:
