Bakersfield– (April 13, 2016) – The Kern High School District’s Director of School Support Services, Stan Greene, has purchased Shadowman Pro training systems for the upcoming 2016 football season.
The Shadowman mobile training system will be used in all 18 Kern County high schools. With this purchase, Greene and the Shadowman Sports team bring smarter and better tackling techniques to the high school students in the area. The Shadowman training systems have already arrived at each school for the 2016 football season.
Shadowman is the first, patented detachable mobile tackling system that allows athletes to perform full-speed drills without player-to-player contact. By performing drills against Shadowman, coaches can create new practice plans that optimize game-speed drills while reducing player collisions. Players using Shadowman benefit by being able to perfect and improve their technique on a mobile training system with or without pads all season long.
The Kern High School District hosted a Town Hall meeting with Rocky Seto of the Seattle Seahawks on April 1, 2016 at Bakersfield High School inside the Harvey Auditorium. Seto is the assistant head coach/defense for the Seattle Seahawks, before that he spent many years coaching alongside legendary coach Pete Carroll during his tenure at USC. At this event Seto discussed the ‘Hawk Tackle’ and the importance of safer tackling. The hawk tackle was inspired by the tackling technique used in rugby.
Shadowman Sports was founded by JP Hartigan who is an industrial designer and rugby player from Ireland that had to end his rugby career early due to injuries sustained in practice. JP realized that there was a need for smarter practice equipment for collision sports such as football and rugby. Over 900 programs around the world are part of the Shadowman team. Shadowman Sports continues to grow at a rapid rate and relationships with the Kern High School District demonstrate the demand for this versatile product. Over 100 NCAA football programs have begun to use Shadowman. With this growth, Shadowman’s goal remains the same, to help players to train smarter, play longer and perform better.
