TOP 10 STATE BOYS
BASKETBALL TEAMS
1. (1) Chino Hills 30-0
It’s sort of like the Golden State Warriors. All you can say after last week’s 112-78 win vs. Inglewood and that 102-54 shellacking of Mater Dei: Wow.
2. (3) Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) 26-3
The Trailblazers flip-flop with Bishop Montgomery this week after beating the Knights in CIF Southern Section Open Division semifinals. They play No. 1 Chino Hills Saturday at the Honda Center.

3. (2) Bishop Montgomery (Torrance) 26-2
The Knights fall back to third in the state this week but may be seeded lower than third in the CIF SoCal Open Division playoffs behind one of the other section champions (L.A. City or San Diego).
4. (4) Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 27-4
Yes, margin of defeat vs. Chino Hills was historic but Monarchs still have a win over Foothills Christian (next highest team in rankings after them) and they also beat Corona Centennial earlier in the week.
5. (5) Foothills Christian (El Cajon) 22-4
Head coach Brad Leaf’s boys play Torrey Pines in CIF San Diego Section Open Division semifinals on Wednesday and may get Cathedral Catholic in the final.
6. (6) Modesto Christian 28-1
We’re still on track for Modesto Christian vs. Folsom final in CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D1 final, but the easy games are over. Sheldon will be a tough test in semifinals.
7. (7) Redondo (Redondo Beach) 24-5
Since the Seahawks only lost to Sierra Canyon last week by four and then Sierra Canyon beat up on Bishop Montgomery, it makes no sense to drop them at all this week.
8. (11) De La Salle (Concord) 26-2
The Spartans seem to be in good shape to win CIF North Coast Section D1 title and if that happens will get strong consideration for top seed in NorCal Open Division.
9. (12) Westchester (Los Angeles) 25-6
With previous No. 8 Fairfax getting beat by Narbonne in CIF L.A. City Section Open Division semis, the Comets move up almost to where the Lions were sitting in last week’s rankings.
10. (13) Sacramento 27-1
This team just has that one 10-point loss to Moreau with a lot of quality wins and it’s a group with a lot back from last year’s team that lost in the NorCal D2 final.
TOP 10 STATE GIRLS
BASKETBALL TEAMS
1. (1) St. Mary’s (Stockton) 25-0
Girls version of Chino Hills (No. 1 in nation, historic high scoring) won CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D1 quarterfinal 113-43 vs. Modesto Christian.
2. (2) Miramonte (Orinda) 27-0
The Matadors won CIF North Coast Section D3 quarterfinal 82-48 over Alameda Encinal. They’ll probably play No. 8 Bishop O’Dowd in the section final.

3. (3) Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) 21-3
Heleyna Hill knocked down 21 points as Monarchs won CIF Central Coast Section Open Division quarterfinal 78-40 vs. Los Gatos.
4. (4) Long Beach Poly (Long Beach) 25-3
It will be the top seed Jackrabbits taking on new No. 5 Chaminade in the CIF Southern Section Open Division championship.
5. (9) Chaminade (West Hills) 24-4
It’s time to move the Eagles back up toward the top prior to matchup with Long Beach Poly. They rolled last week over both Etiwanda and then Sierra Canyon.
6. (6) Mission Hills (San Marcos) 26-3
As expected, the Grizzlies are playing Bishop’s of La Jolla in CIF San Diego Open Division semifinals.
7. (7) La Jolla Country Day (La Jolla) 23-4
The Torreys beat Serra (San Diego) 62-45 in first CIFSD Open Division contest and now meet Torrey Pines in the semifinals.
8. (8) Bishop O’Dowd (Oakland) 23-5
Head coach Malik McCord and girls won twice last week to advance into NCS D3 semifinals. Still on track to play No. 2 Miramonte in final.
9. (10) Pinewood (Los Altos Hills) 21-4
The Panthers beat St. Francis (Mountain View) 69-59 in CCS Open Division and get Sacred Heart Cathedral of San Francisco in semifinals.
10. (12) Windward (Los Angeles) 20-6
Semifinalist in CIFSS Open Division got there with big win over Vista Murrieta and then lost to No. 4 Long Beach Poly by respectable margin.
