With No. 2 Centennial and No. 3 St. John Bosco having already played on Thursday night, No. 1 De La Salle kept pace on Friday. Biggest Friday night house of horrors were experienced by No. 6 Mater Dei falling to bubble team JSerra and No. 19 Westlake going down to St. Bonaventure.

1. De La Salle (Concord) 8-1
Defeated James Logan (Union City) 57-14. It was 51-14 at halftime and both Logan scores came on kickoff returns so the Spartan first-string defense gave up next to nothing once again. QB Anthony Sweeney rushed for the team’s first three touchdowns.
2. Centennial (Corona) 9-0
Defeated Corona 69-7 on Thursday night. The Huskies had 55 points at halftime and have now scored 59, 79 and 69 in last three weeks. League title showdown up next vs. Norco.
3. St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 9-0
Defeated No. 18 Lutheran (Orange) 31-12. The Braves only led 7-6 at halftime and for first time this season couldn’t use running clock in the fourth quarter.

Defeated No. 22 Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 35-21. Once again, the Bulldogs were challenged by a local rival, this time coming back from 13-7 deficit in second quarter. They’ve now won state-leading 25 games in a row overall and 40 for regular season.
5. Serra (Gardena) 8-1
Defeated Alemany (Mission Hills) 41-34. Back-and-forth Mission League battle won by the Cavs thanks to QB Khalil Tate with 500 yards of offense and DE Oluwale Betiku with five sacks on defense.
6. Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 7-2
LOST to JSerra (San Juan Capistrano) 35-28. This loss for the Monarchs will cause a lot of problems for the next rankings since they still have some strong head-to-head wins, but it’s more of a potential mess for the Trinity League. There are now all sorts of CIFSS Pac-5 playoff scenarios, including a five-way tie for second.
7. Bishop Amat (La Puente) 7-2
Did not play. The Lancers were on a bye in the Mission League. They will close the regular season against No. 17 Loyola, but pretty sure Loyola’s going to be much higher than No. 17 by then.
8. Mission Viejo 10-0
Defeated El Toro (Lake Forest) 39-20. Brendan Schooler’s 80-yard interception return broke it open for the Diablos, who also will end regular season No. 1 overall for Orange County since Mater Dei lost to JSerra.
9. Elk Grove 9-0
Defeated Franklin (Elk Grove) 35-0. The Thundering Herd took their foot off the gas in the second half, but RB Ryan Robards still had 235 yards and four TDs.
10. Clayton Valley (Concord) 7-1
Defeated Ygnacio Valley (Concord) 68-8. Scores may continue like this for the Ugly Eagles until deep in the CIF North Coast Section D2 playoffs. Their only loss is by one point to Folsom.

11. Mission Hills (San Marcos) 8-0
Defeated Vista 47-21. Looks like a 99 percent chance that San Diego’s No. 1 team since the second week of the season is going to join the state top 10 next week.
12. Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) 9-0
Defeated Moorpark 56-7. Some of the Lions’ earlier wins this season over St. Bonaventure (48-22) and Thousand Oaks (48-7) also are looking better this week heading into their matchup next week with Westlake (which will be coming in after a loss).
13. Helix (La Mesa) 7-1
Defeated Grossmont (La Mesa) 68-16. It was the Highlanders beating the Foothillers in a rivalry game. Grossmont also had lost just once coming into the game.
14. Long Beach Poly (Long Beach) 7-2
Defeated Jordan (Long Beach) 53-9. The Panthers were only 3-5 coming in so not much can be learned about Poly in this game. The Jackrabbits close out their regular season next week at Millikan.
15. Narbonne (Harbor City) 6-2
Defeated Banning (Wilmington) 60-7. What a tough task it’s going to be for Gaucho coaches to prime their team for the postseason after nothing more than workout games against league competition.
16. Foothill (Pleasanton) 9-0
Did not play. The Falcons were on a bye week in their East Bay Athletic League schedule. They will end the regular season next Friday vs. arch-rival Amador Valley.
17. Loyola (Los Angeles) 8-1
Defeated Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) 45-14. Solid win by the Cubs (who’ve lost only to Gardena Serra) against team that won its previous game 63-35 vs. Crespi. Look for Loyola to get a decent bump in the next rankings.
18. Lutheran (Orange) 5-4
LOST to No. 3 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 31-12. The Lancers have now played the top three teams in these rankings and here are the scores: LOST to De La Salle 41-3, LOST to Centennial 35-14, LOST to Bosco 31-12.

19. Westlake (Westlake Village) 7-2
LOST to St. Bonaventure (Ventura) 31-28. Coming off a 25-21 win over Moorpark, this wasn’t a complete surprise. The Warriors also were without injured standouts Chase Jarmin (RB) and Theo Howard (WR).
20. Camarillo 9-0
Defeated Thousand Oaks 49-45. Frankie Tostado caught a TD pass from Jake Constantine in the closing seconds to lift the Scorpions to the win.
21. Tesoro (Las Flores) 7-2
Did not play. The Titans hope to wrap up the No. 2 slot from the South Coast League with a win next week vs. San Juan Hills of SJ Capistrano. Mission Viejo has already clinched the No. 1 berth.
22. Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 8-2
LOST to No. 4 Folsom 35-21. At one point, the host Trojans were leading last year’s CIF Division I state champions 13-7 in the second quarter.
23. Bellarmine (San Jose) 7-1
Defeated Sacred Heart Cathedral (San Francisco) 33-0. This is probably the weakest team in the WCAL this season. The Bells, however, get Valley Christian of San Jose next.
24. Vista Murrieta (Murrieta) 8-1
Defeated Chaparral (Temecula) 55-10. The Broncos have now won five in a row since their only loss of the season so far, which was to state No. 18 Orange Lutheran.
25. La Habra 7-1
Defeated Sunny Hills (Fullerton) 42-0. This team’s only loss remains the one to No. 8 Mission Viejo (which is now 10-0).
