We have a new No. 1 in D3 as Camarillo’s win over St. Bonaventure was just too overwhelming. The move also sets up a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup this week with the Scorpions taking on unbeaten, previous No. 1 Calabasas. Still No. 1 are De La Salle of Concord (D1), Clayton Valley (D2), Sierra Canyon (D4) and Grace Brethren (D5). Newcomers include Westview of San Diego (D2) and Manteca (D3).
With the CIF bowl games now in 13 divisions and with it basically impossible to place teams into those divisions in a weekly format, we are rebooting our traditional five-division state rankings first done in 1975.
