The CIF Southern Section claims its Open Division playoffs are the toughest playoffs not only in California but the entire nation, and rightfully so, but after the opening rounds in both Pool A and Pool B, what’s even more
obvious is the disparity between the top four seeds and the other four seeds in the eight-team field. The average margin for the four games was 33.8 points. Even so, we are not dropping teams that lost in the CIFSS Open Division. There were no changes in the first 12 spots this week and only some shuffling after that.
